Christian D. Jacob, M.D. was born and raised in the New Orleans area. After attending Jesuit High School, he received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees from Tulane University. Following a five year residency in the Tulane Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, he completed a coveted fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under the tutelage of Dr. Calvin Johnson.
Dr. Jacob has been at Hedgewood since 2014. Not only did he complete the standard one-year fellowship with Dr. Johnson, but he also had the distinct opportunity of continuing to operate and see patients with Dr. Johnson for an additional two years afterwards. Not one person has spent nearly as much time operating so closely with Dr. Johnson as Dr. Jacob. This truly unique experience has imparted him with knowledge and skills well beyond his years.
Dr. Jacob is double board certified by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and by the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He has given multiple talks about rhinoplasty and neck rejuvenation at prestigious national and international conferences. Through New Orleans Medical Mission Services, Dr. Jacob has attended multiple medical missions to Central America where he served as a reconstructive facial plastic surgeon. He remains active in the education of local residents interested in facial plastic surgery.
