Carol Suzuki was born in California. Her family moved to the east coast when she was 5 years old and moved back to Southern California when she was 16. She has spent a fair bit of time in Hawaii where her grandparents resided as she was growing up. She received a BA in Social Welfare and Microbiology/Immunology from the University of California, Berkeley and then a Masters of Public Health at UCLA. She received her medical degree from The University of California, Davis with research again in immunology and virology. She moved to Portland, Oregon in 1996 to do her residency training at OHSU in obstetrics and gynecology. She started private practice in 2000 doing obstetrics and gynecology. In 2015, she decided to give up obstetrics kn order to focus in on gynecology and moved to Cascade Women's Health to help make this possible.
