More than thirty years of experience has taught Dr. Meyerhoff that the key to quality care is to view each patient in terms of his or her distinct and individual needs. He believes that a range of factors—emotional, psychological, among many others—can impact a patient’s health.
He places a high value on the doctor-patient relationship. “In this career I’m constantly stimulated. I can think of no other field where a person has the opportunity to enjoy his or her work and really help people at the same time.”
The specialty of internal medicine is an area of primary care for adults. Dr. Meyerhoff specializes in diagnosing and treating cross-system illnesses that may affect multiple organ systems. Dr. Meyerhoff can also refer patients to specialist physicians when medically needed. For instance, patients with skin conditions may be referred to a dermatologist for further diagnostic tests or treatment plans.
Dr. Meyerhoff is trained to provide comprehensive medical care for elderly and aging patients. As patients age, they may experience an increased susceptibility to illness and injury. In some cases, illnesses or injuries in seniors may overlap to create complicated diagnostic and treatment processes. Dr. Meyerhoff is trained to diagnose, treat and manage these and any related medical situations in seniors.
