Dr. Brent Michael is a leading family doctor who graduated from UCLA - Santa Monica Residency, where he now works as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Family Medicine Department. He recently celebrated his 12th year of private practice serving patients throughout the Santa Monica, CA, area, providing top-quality medical care to patients in a practice designed for patient comfort. As a skilled and experienced family practitioner, Dr. Michael is dedicated to providing every patient with the one-on-one attention needed to ensure the best, most effective care for optimal results and maximum peace of mind.

Dr. Michael maintains professional memberships and affiliations with several leading medical associations, including the American Medical Association, the American Association of Family Physicians, the California Medical Association and the Los Angeles County Medical Association. He has also sat on the boards of the Santa Monica Chapter of the Red Cross and also the Family Medicine Board of UCLA - Santa Monica.

After completing his bachelor of science degrees in both biology and human and natural ecology at Emory University, Dr. Michael earned his M.D. at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, followed by a family medicine internship at University of Miami and a residency in family medicine at University of California–Los Angeles (UCLA) at Santa Monica. Now, as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Family Medicine Dept. at UCLA , Dr. Michael has medical students at Common Ground, the Venice Family Clinic, and the Downtown LA Homeless Clinic.

Dr. Michael has earned numerous awards, including honors in pharmacology and surgery, awards of excellence in family practice areas of clinical performance, noncognitive behaviors, clinical reasoning and obstetrics and gynecology. In addition, he holds a license for detoxification from the American Association of Psychiatry. 

Dr. Michael is committed to continuing medical education and has completed extensive study in multiple clinical areas, including pain management and palliative care, opioid dependence treatment and advanced diagnostic imaging techniques. His extensive medical background and training coupled with his compassionate approach to care have earned him the respect of his peers and his patients alike.

As a former competitive college swimmer at Emory University, Dr. Michael continues to swim as a past time. When he is not working or in the water, Dr. Michael loves spending time with his beloved dog Titus.
