Her husband Jacob moved to Greenville to take a job as a radiation physicist at a radiation therapy center for cancer patients. Dr. Gersh grew up in Canada, but has lived in the south long enough to relate to Southerners. She trained at UNC Chapel, medical school at Nova Southeastern in Ft, Lauderdale Florida, and Wake Forest University for residency.
