Dr. Vicar has three offices in Indiana where he specializes in Hand Surgery, Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery.
A hand surgeon in Indiana, Dr. Vicar cares for injuries and complications of the hand, fingers, wrist, forearm, elbow and shoulder. Dr. Vicar is specifically trained to diagnose each patient and determine whether or not surgical intervention is medically necessary, as surgery is usually seen as a last resort when other treatment methods have been exhausted. As a result, treatment can be surgical or non-surgical in nature.
Sports medicine physicians are trained to provide treatment and prevention plans for those participating in sports and related physical activities. Dr. Vicar is trained to treat complications such as muscle tears and strains, concussions, tendon and ligament damage, shin splints, sports hernias, fractures, and a variety of others. Treatments may include rehabilitation services, therapies and a variety of surgical operations, among others.
As an orthopedic surgeon in Indiana, Dr. Vicar is trained to detect and treat all forms of damage to the musculoskeletal system, including the tendons, ligaments, joints, bones, and muscles. Once a diagnosis has been achieved, Dr. Vicar will typically resort to surgery when other treatment plans have been exhausted or eliminated. Patients may require the attention of an orthopedic surgeon for sports injuries, sprains, torn ligaments, fractures, and more.
