Dr. Amrish Patel has built his medical practice around helping patients regain normal, healthy physical function. As a physiatrist at Sports and Spine Institute, Dr. Patel focuses on providing non-surgical physical medicine and rehabilitation to patients in the Atlanta area who have gone through an injury or who suffer from a disease, disorder or condition that has a negative impact on their overall quality of life.
A Georgia native, Dr. Patel began his education at the University of Georgia in Athens before heading to Georgia State University to complete a bachelor of science in physical therapy. After working for several years as a physical therapist, he earned his doctor of medicine at St. George's University. He moved to the Northeast to complete his residency, becoming administrative chief resident at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation and receiving a fellowship from the University of Pittsburgh. Then he returned home to Georgia, where his practice at Sports and Spine helps patients get back on their feet and return to living their lives to the fullest.
As an interventional pain management specialist in Georgia, Dr. Patel focuses on relieving chronic pain in patients. Interventional pain specialists offer pain relief by blocking or interrupting the transmission of neurological pain signals in the brain.
