About Dr. Goyal
Dr. Goyal

Bio

I became a physician because I wanted to help people live happier, healthier lives. In that regard, ophthalmic surgery is the perfect fit for me. I get to care for one of our most precious gifts – vision – while helping people get the confidence and improved self-esteem that result from a well-done eye or facial enhancing procedure.

Dr. Goyal attended Vanderbilt University where he majored in Psychology and graduated magna cum laude in 1985. He graduated at the top of his class from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1989 and finished his ophthalmology residency at the University of Louisville, Kentucky in 1994. In 1995, Dr. Goyal completed an accredited fellowship at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. He is one of approximately 600 accredited ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgeons in the world. Since then, Dr. Ameet Goyal has been in private practice providing outstanding quality general adult and pediatric ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery services throughout the tri-state area.

Dr. Goyal’s area of expertise is in diagnosing and treating disorders in and around the eye. He is often called upon to correct patient’s droopy or baggy eyelids, treat dry or tearing eyes, decrease the appearance of wrinkles with Botox, fill in others with Juvederm, and perform reconstructive surgery after trauma or other surgery. He takes pride in staying up to date on the latest research in his field and is one of the pioneers in Westchester County in performing laser cataract surgery. Dr. Goyal also treats medical disorders such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, ocular tumors, as well as many complicated eyelid or tear duct related issues.

In addition to providing high quality, compassionate care to his general ophthalmology and plastic surgery patients, Dr. Goyal enjoys combining teaching and research. He is on faculty at the New York College of Medicine where he works with ophthalmology residents. He continues to present innovative research at peer reviewed conferences and lectures to other physicians in the country. Dr. Goyal is a former Board member of the New York State Ophthalmology Society as well as the Westchester Chapter of the American Red Cross. He is very active in the community, supporting various area organizations.

Dr. Goyal has offices in Dutchess and Westchester County, NY and Fairfield County, CT. He is on staff at Greenwich Hospital, Westchester Medical Center, Northern Westchester Hospital, Montefiore Medical Center and Vassar Brothers.
