Aleea Maye, MD is a double board-certified internist and adult psychiatrist. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She has engaged in several community service initiatives and was inducted as a medical student into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Maye is a member of the Association of Medicine and Psychiatry, the American Psychiatric Association and the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Maye received her bachelor of science from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia and earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Maye went on to complete her combined internal medicine and psychiatry residency at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California.
The specialty of internal medicine is an area of primary care for adults. Dr. Maye specializes in diagnosing and treating cross-system illnesses that may affect multiple organ systems. She may also refer patients to specialist physicians when medically needed.
