About Dr. Flashner
Dr. Flashner

Bio


A native of Mexico with a background in biochemistry, Dr. Flashner immigrated to this country as a young woman. She was soon able to enroll in the University of Illinois at Chicago and graduated summa cum laude from Rush University, where she also received the Deans Award for Outstanding Health Science Undergraduate Student. Dr. Flashner earned her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, where she was selected for the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. During her years at NYU Dr. Flashner became interested in dermatology and worked at the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center doing research on the prevalence of HTLV-1 proviral DNA in mycosis fungoides and was a co-author on several publications in clinical dermatology. Dr. Flashner completed a year of internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC and completed her dermatology training at the State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, where she participated in clinical research studies. Dr. Flashners primary focus has been on early detection and prevention of skin cancer, and she is a volunteer at skin cancer screenings. She has extensive experience in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology and has been in private practice for seventeen years. Dr. Flashner strives to provide personalized patient care and enjoys working with ethnic skin and understands their concerns.
