Dr. William Douglas is a cardiac surgeon that specializes in the surgical healing of heart and cardiovascular disorders. These can include rheumatic, ischemic, endocarditis, atherosclerosis, and valvular, or congenital heart disease. Dr. Douglas may carry out types of procedures such as coronary artery bypass, heart transplant surgery, heart valve repair, or surgical implantation of defibrillators and pacemakers.
Following rigorous and lengthy training, thoracic surgeons are uniquely qualified to perform complex surgeries on the chest, or thorax as it is sometimes called.
