At the I-10 and I-12 intersection, take Essen Lane toward Our Lady of the Lake Hospital (OLOL). At OLOL, turn to Summa Avenue driving toward Baton Rouge General Hospital and the Mall. Biopotentials Sleep Center is within the first block on your right.
Biopotentials Sleep Center is between Sage Rehab Hospital and Baton Rouge Imaging Open MRI. The nearest intersection to 8032 Summa Avenue is Keswick Drive. Within the same area is Dr. Tabor's Internal Medicine practice, Genesis orthosis DME, and Southerntran transportation office.
There is ample parking with handicap access. Be careful turning in and out, as Summa Avenue can be busy and there are pedestrians walking on the sidewalk.
Dr. Pan is a Chinese American. She was graduated from Fudan University Shanghai Medical College and left China for New Orleans in 1993 to go through the Tulane University Neuroscience PhD training program. She then completed Neurology residency in 2000 and stayed at Tulane as a faculty member while joining Ochsner as a part-time staff physician. She became a full professor of neuroscience at LSU - Pennington Biomedical in 2007, and continued her part-time practice at Ochsner till the end of 2014. She took a year of unpaid sabbatical in 2009 to renew sleep medicine training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center of Harvard Medical School and to venture into a new research direction on sleep brain health. After publishing more than 160 papers and contributing active service to the research community, Dr. Pan recently left her two part-time positions and established the Biopotentials Sleep Center. She is experienced in treating all aspects of sleep disorders, operating sleep labs to assure the highest quality of service, and promoting sleep health education in the community. Her non-medical interests include world travel, hiking, gardening, birding, reading, cooking, and taking adult-learning courses.
Sleep medicine specialists diagnose and treat various disorders and diseases relating to sleep. This can include a range of conditions including insomnia, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, nightmares and others. Dr. Pan utilizes a variety of diagnostic tools including screening devices, overnight sleep studies or oximeters, among many others. Treatments can include CPAP therapy, implantation of sleep devices, counseling, lifestyle modifications, and others aimed at eliminating or alleviating the symptoms of sleep conditions.
