Dr. Traub is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He completed his anesthesiology and internal medicine residency at Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla, New York.  During his anesthesia residency, he developed an extreme interest in helping to alleviate chronic pain in patients with both cancer and non-cancer pain problems, and he received additional training in many regional anesthesia and interventional pain medicine procedures. In addition, Dr. Traub received a Master of Business Administration by the University of South Florida with major tracks in health care, finance and quality management. In addition to being certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Traub is also certified by the American Academy of Pain Management and the American Board of Disability Analysts. 

Dr. Traub has served as the medical director of the anesthesia departments at St. Petersburg General Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., Kindred Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., and Oil City Area Health Center in Oil City, Pa. Additionally, he has been medical director of many local ambulatory surgery centers, including Tampa Bay Specialty Surgery Center, HealthSouth Surgery Center, Center for Special Surgery, Gulfcoast Surgery Center and Pasadena Surgery Center. He is currently on the medical staff at Northside Hospital and Heart Center as well as Edward White Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Dr. Traub has been instrumental in developing comprehensive pain medicine centers in both Pennsylvania and Florida, and he has been practicing as a consultant in both anesthesia and interventional pain medicine since 1985.  He has an extensive range of clinical experience, treating many chronic pain problems from complex regional pain syndrome/reflex sympathetic dystrophy to sympathetic nerve mediated pain, shingles pain, postherpetic neuralgia pain, occipital neuralgia / headache pain, shoulder pain, cancer pain, back, neck and lower extremity pain.

Dr. Traub has extensive clinical experience with the insertion and management of trial and permanent spinal cord stimulation systems for the treatment of chronic back pain, post-laminectomy syndromes, sympathetic mediated pain, complex regional pain syndrome/reflex sympathetic dystrophy, chronic pancreatitis pain and phantom limb pain. He has extensive experience with intrathecal pump implantation, radio-frequency nerve ablation, ultrasound-guided nerve procedures for interventional pain medicine as well as regional anesthesia and neuroablative techniques.
