Dr. Thomas D'amato graduated from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in 1990 before completing a residency in General Surgery at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in Norfolk, VA from 1990 to 1995. He then completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surery at University of Pittsburgh from 2005 to 2006.

Dr. Thomas D'amato is a cardiac surgeon that specializes in the surgical healing of cardiovascular and heart ailments. These could include ischemic, rheumatic, valvular, or congenital heart disease, endocarditis and atherosclerosis. Dr. D'amato may carry out types of procedures such as surgical implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, heart valve repair, heart transplant surgery, or coronary artery bypass.
