Dr. Zannikos received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology with emphasis in Biomechanics from Rice University in Texas. Dr. Zannikos also received a Master of Arts in Kinesiology and Biomechanics from The University of Texas at Austin. In 2008, he received his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio. From there, Dr. Zannikos finished his internship in General Surgery and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Tufts Medical Center. He then completed his fellowship in Reconstructive Spine Surgery with The Boston Spine Group. Dr. Zannikos has three offices in Massachusetts.
Specializing in the field of Orthopedic Spine Surgery, Dr. Zannikos is prepared to diagnose and treat degenerative diseases, arthritic conditions, fractures, tumors, deformities such as scoliosis, lower back pain and other conditions through various surgeries and treatments (some non-surgical) of the spine and vertebrae. Dr. Zannikos will consult with the patient to explain the various avenues of treatment, and may consult with other physicians to determine if a surgical procedure is necessary.
Dr. Zannikos works with six doctors including Dr. Sean Rockett and Dr. Agam Shah.
Specializing in orthopedic spine surgery, Dr. Zannikos can diagnose and treat a range of conditions affecting the spine. These may include degenerative diseases, arthritic conditions, fractures, tumors, deformities such as scoliosis, and other conditions. Treatment techniques may range from invasive to minimally-invasive surgeries of the spine and vertebrae. However, depending upon the patient's diagnosis and medical history, treatments may be non-surgical in nature.
