Susan Ramdhaney MD, president of Comprehensive Digestive Care, practices in a multicultural and multiethnic metropolitan New York. She has special interest in the health of women and minority groups.
Dr. Ramdhaney was awarded the Hugh Brock Entrance Scholarship to McGill University, Canada where she completed her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry. During that time, she worked as a research associate at the Montreal Neurological Institute in the Muscular Dystrophy Division. Growing up in the Caribbean, Dr. Ramdhaney developed a keen interest in contributing to the improvement of medical services in underdeveloped countries. In 1997 she was awarded the International Peace Scholarship from St George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada where she completed her medical degree. Upon graduation she worked as a research coordinator at Maimonides Medical Center. Her work on the prevention of post-ERCP pancreatitis and reducing mortality in upper GI bleeding is now published. She completed an Internal Medicine Residency in Brooklyn, NY, at Maimonides Medical Center and later a gastroenterology fellowship at the State University of New York, Downstate. Dr. Ramdhaney is the author and co-author of several chapters and articles, including the “Endoscopic Techniques in the Management of Thoracic Diseases - Shields and Locicero’s General Thoracic Surgery” textbook, as well as four chapters in the “Curbside Consultation of the Pancreas”.
Following the completion of her gastroenterology fellowship, Dr. Ramdhaney joined a private group at Brooklyn Gastroenterology and Endoscopy where she became Director of the Women’s Health Institute. She continued to travel to the Caribbean investigating health care models and began educating in Guyana on the importance of screening for colorectal cancer. She was listed in Superdoctors as New York Rising Star both in 2013 and in 2014. In 2014, Dr. Ramdhaney established Comprehensive Digestive Care, managed her practice in Long Island, NY and practiced within several groups in the area. Recently, Dr. Ramdhaney was given the honor of being inducted into the AGA Fellowship and was chosen to be one of American Gastroenterology Association's Future Leaders of 2017-2018.
Dr. Ramdhaney’s primary interests include colon cancer screening, treating reflux and obesity, hemorrhoid treatment (she is certified in the CRH O’Regan hemorrhoid banding system) and capsule endoscopy. She also has a special interest in GI health for women and minorities. In her spare time, Dr. Ramdhaney volunteers in underserved countries to assist with screening colonoscopy programs and participates in many patient advocacy programs.

Treating conditions such as Crohn's disease, IBS or gastroesophageal reflux disease, Dr. Ramdhaney is also competent in the effects of diet & nutrition, and their impact on your general well-being.
The specialty of internal medicine is an area of primary care for adults. Dr. Ramdhaney specializes in diagnosing and treating cross-system illnesses that may affect multiple organ systems. When necessary, Dr. Ramdhaney can also refer patients to specialists when medically needed. As an example, patients with severe allergies could be referred to an allergist for added diagnostic tests or treatment options.
