My father, an octogenarian with a medical history, has been a long-time patient of this doctor. Most recently, he was hospitalized for over 2 months, and not once did Vandor take the time to check up on his patient, while his specialists did. To me that smacks of aloofness, and at worst, shirking of his Hippocratic duties. But his most aggregious transgression occurred earlier today when Vandor's receptionist would not allow my father to be seen by Vandor on the flimsy premise that my father was late and has actually missed appointments several times. I bristled at her comment as I explained to her that my father has both ambulatory and breathing issues, and needs considerable help in getting up and down the front stairs, and has also been both in the hospital and rehab, possibly on those days of his missed appointments. MY sister has a complete schedule of all his visits and makes all of the ones he has to make if he is home. On those days he was not able to go out, she cancelled his appointments. But today, Vandor's office refusal to see my father because he was late, yet they can clearly see that he walks with the aid of a walker and has an O2 canister for breathing, shows me a group of health professionals who are extremely callous and unsympathetic - and if Vandor allows such hideous conduct, he is making a mockery of his hippocratic oath, and I wonder if this failure to see my father also comes under the realm of a JAHCO complaint.
