Dr. Steve Rottman completed a general surgery residency at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. During his general surgery training, he was actively involved in the development of Single Port Access (SPATM) Surgery. His work led to publication in numerous scientific journals and presentations at several local and national meetings. Following general surgery, Dr. Rottman trained in plastic surgery at UMDNJ – Robert Wood Johnson.
During his plastic surgery residency, Dr. Rottman gained extensive experience in facial trauma, lower extremity trauma, reconstruction of the face and body from cancer resections, burn surgery, traumatic and elective hand surgery, and pediatric craniofacial surgery – including cleft lip and palate repair.
Following his plastic surgery residency, Dr. Rottman was selected for the prestigious breast and aesthetic plastic surgery Fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. under the guidance of internationally recognized leaders in the field of breast surgery. He received advanced training in breast augmentation, breast reconstruction, as well as revisionary cosmetic breast surgery.
The Fellowship also focused on cosmetic surgery of the face and body contouring. As an Assistant Professor of Clinical Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital, Dr. Rottman taught operative techniques to residents and the fundamentals of plastic surgery to medical students.
Dr. Rottman has been actively involved in research throughout his career training plastic surgeons. His dedication to the field has produced numerous publications and oral presentations at local and national meetings in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.
