Dr. Zimmet practices procedural and cosmetic dermatology in his solo practice in Austin, Texas. He is an internationally regarded vein specialist certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine and a registered vascular technologist.
Dr. Zimmet is a graduate of the Georgetown School of Medicine and completed his residency in family medicine with an elective focus on dermatology. Prior to opening his practice in 1996, he worked at the Austin Regional Clinic where he served on the clinic's Board of Directors.
He has authored numerous textbook chapters and journal publications, serves as Editor for the peer reviewed indexed journal Phlebology, is a reviewer for seven journals, and was recognized as one of the 25 Most Influential Venous Professionals by Vein Magazine, and has served as invited faculty at numerous medical conferences around the world.
In addition to his clinical roles, Dr. Zimmet is the founding President of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine and is a Past President of the American College of Phlebology (ACP). He was awarded the America Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Leadership Circle 2011-2013 and the Patient's Choice Award for 2011, 2012, and 2013.
