Dr. Stephen Schleicher is a board-certified dermatologist and the Founder/Director of the DermDox Centers for Dermatology. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers University, received his medical degree with academic honors from the Hahnemann Medical College and completed his dermatology residency at the Temple Skin and Cancer Hospital.
The author of three books and over one hundred journal articles, Dr. Schleicher served on the Editorial Board of the journal Emergency Medicine and the Advisory Board of the Day Spa Association. Principal Investigator for over two dozen phase 2-4 clinical trials, he has traveled throughout Europe investigating skin care products as a consultant to the health and beauty industries.
Dr. Schleicher currently authors a weekly column in the journal Clinical Advisor and is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Geisinger Commonwealth Medical College and a clinical instructor of dermatology for Kings College and Arcadia University. The 2017 edition of his book SkinSense: A Dermatologist’s Guide to Skin and Facial Care is available on Amazon.
Dr. Schleicher is also a pioneer in the field of teledermatology and for over a decade has been providing remote dermatological consultations to federal and state prisons throughout Pennsylvania. In 2010 he developed and implemented a teledermatology prototype for the nonprofit organization Volunteers in Medicine which coordinates 70 clinics nationwide.
Founder and director of the DermDox Center for Teledermatology, (https://www.dermdoxcenters.com) his digital-image based medical column is read each month by thousands of healthcare practitioners. For his work in teledermatology Dr. Schleicher was named a ComputerWorld Honors Laureate in 2011, this an international competition recognizing “men and women whose visionary applications of information technology promote positive social, economic and educational change.” Also in 2011 Dr. Schleicher received the Innovators Award from the Pennsylvania Medical Society which featured his trailblazing work in the field of telemedicine.
