Bio

I have seen a need in our community for improvement in the diagnosis and treatment for individuals with ADD/ADHD.  The underlying mechanisms of ADD/ADHD are the same in both males and females, but females have more subtle symptoms such as being disorganized, easily distracted and forgetful.  Whereas males with ADD/ADHD are more prone to car accidents and behavioral issues along with substance abuse.  As a physician, I have found myself discouraged with the testing and treatment protocol for individuals with ADD/ADHD.  In my office, we use FDA approved computer technology to develop an accurate diagnosis.

Some individuals seek treatment because their lives are out of control or they are struggling to keep up with demands of their jobs.  But whether an individual's life is in chaos or whether they are able to hide their struggles, they often describe themselves as feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.

Initial treatment strategies for my patients includes medication and counseling.  The focus of treatment is not on curing the individual's ADD/ADHD, but on finding effective ways to manage the symptoms.
