About Dr. Cho
Dr. Cho

After spending more than a decade practicing medicine on the West Coast, Dr. Sheldon K. Cho has decided to bring his medical expertise to Florida Pain Institute. Dr. Cho is a board-certified anesthesiologist with subspecialty qualifications in interventional pain medicine and substance abuse.

Dr. Cho was born in Seoul, Korea and received his Bachelor of Science from Seoul National University in 1988. He then continued his collegiate career at Seoul National University’s College of Medicine, graduating in 1992. After graduation, he interned in Long Island, N.Y., for several years at Nassau University Medical Center Department of Surgery. He remained at Nassau University Medical Center where he completed his residency with the Department of Anesthesiology in 1998. He then completed a fellowship in cancer pain medicine in New York City with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s anesthesiology department.

Dr. Cho continued his medical career as a clinical instructor at the University of Rochester Medical Center, specializing in anesthesia regional block and pain medicine. In 2004, he moved to San Francisco, Calif., to take a position as a clinical professor at UCSF for the next four years. Dr. Cho later went on to become the medical director at Anapa Pain Clinic in Los Angeles, specializing in interventional pain medicine. While working at Anapa Pain Clinic, he served dual roles as the medical director at California Detox Clinic where he specialized in addiction management.

Some of Dr. Cho’s key areas of interest, along with interventional and cancer pain medicine, include various procedures under fluoroscopy, including spinal cord stimulation trails and implants, spine kyphoplasty, RFA, facet joint blocks and epidural blocks. He is also an active member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP). Dr. Cho is extremely happy to join the team of physicians at Florida Pain Institute and to call Florida home!
