Dr. Slocumb practices comprehensive ophthalmology treating patients with a wide variety of eye diseases, such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration. He performs cataract surgeries with multifocal and astigmatism correcting lenses as well as surgeries in the fields of glaucoma, oculoplastics, and corneal disease.
Dr. Slocumb completed his eye surgery training at the Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan, rated by Ophthalmology Times as one of the top ten training programs in the United States. He graduated from the University of Washington Medical School with honors and completed his internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Slocumb received a Bachelor’s degree with high honors in electrical engineering from the University of Florida and a Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from the University of Washington. In addition, he holds a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Florida.
As an ophthalmologist in CT, Dr. Ronald Slocumb is trained to diagnose, treat, and manage diseases or trauma of the eye. Dr. Slocumb may treat conditions such as glaucoma, corneal tumors, cataracts, retinal disorders, conjunctivitis, astigmatism and ocular tumors. Treatments may include the prescription of medication or surgeries such as corrective surgery (e.g. LASIK), cataract surgery, or glaucoma surgery.
