As a surgeon I believe in informed consent. The process when patient is presented with accurate information about their disease, its natural course, available treatment options, alternatives, complications and outcomes to make a right decision about own care. Thoracic Surgery
Following rigorous and lengthy training, thoracic surgeons are uniquely qualified to perform complex surgeries on the chest, or thorax as it is sometimes called. Their focus is usually on the lungs, esophagus, and other areas of the chest, and may also include the heart.
