Robert W. Orr, MD, FACC, is a board certified physician specializing in Cardiology. As a Cardiologist, he specializes in the treatment, prevention and management of heart disease.
Dr. Orr is a noted speaker and has worked extensively in television, hosting medical talk shows and lending his expertise to television news. In addition, he has done several on-camera cooking programs on heart healthy cooking. He also speaks French and Spanish, and has twice been selected as one of San Diego Magazine’s Top Doctors, in 2010 and 2012.
Dr. Orr earned his Medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 1984. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and served his residency program through New York Medical College, Cabrini Medical Center, from 1985 to 1987. As Chief Resident, he was selected for a prestigious preceptorship, or mentorship program, under noted Cardiologist Dr. Frederick Feit. He went on to earn his Fellowship in Cardiology from SUNY at Buffalo in 1989.
In addition to general Cardiology, Dr. Orr has special interest in non-invasive cardiology (stress testing, ECHO, TEE); invasive, non-interventional procedures, pacemaker implantation, aviation medicine, heart disease in women, and adolescent cardiology.
Dr. Orr is a former Chief, Cardiology Division, of Tri-City Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American Heart Association, San Diego Medical Society, and California Medical Association.

Dr. Orr is a cardiologist in Escondido, trained to provide comprehensive care for the heart and cardiovascular system in patients.
