Ranjith Ramasamy is the Director of Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery as well as an Assistant professor in Department of Urology at the University of Miami. As a Urologist and Microsurgeon, Dr. Ramasamy specializes in the treatment of disorders of male infertility and sexual dysfunction. Dr. Ramamsamy completed his Urology residency training at Weil Cornell Medical College and New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
He then completed a National Institutes of Health sponsored fellowship in Male Reproductive medicine and Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. In addition to his clinical accolades, Dr. Ramasamy has been integral to the advancement of male reproductive medicine and surgery.
To date, he has published over 100 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and several book chapters; he currently serves as an editorial reviewer for medical journals such as Journal of Urology, European Urology and British Journal of Urology.
Furthermore, he has been invited to lecture at numerous international conferences including the American Urological Association, Malaysian and Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction.
Urologists are physicians trained to diagnose and treat the various disorders and diseases relating to the urinary tract in both men and women, also specializing in the reproductive system in males. Dr. Ramasamy may diagnose and treat conditions like urinary tract infections, prostate cancer, kidney stones and incontinence, among others. Treatment options can be surgical or non-surgical in nature, depending upon the patient's specific diagnosis and medical history.
Reproductive endocrinologists provide care that specializes in the hormonal aspects of infertility and reproduction. Dr. Ramasamy is trained to deal with issues relating to infertility, menstrual disorders, sexual dysfunction, menopause and hormonal imbalances, among other complications that can affect the body's ability to reproduce safely (both men and women may be treated). Reproductive endocrinologists work very closely with patients toward the ultimate goal of bringing a healthy baby into the world.
