About Dr. Kharbat
Dr. Kharbat

Bio

Dr. Paris Kharbat (pronounced “car-bat”), a certified Functional Medicine physician, specializes in addressing the root cause of illness. Dr. Kharbat allows the body to heal at its own pace, in its own time by combining appropriate medical treatments, medications when needed, and a lifestyle of healthy diet and regular exercise.

After completing medical school and residency, Dr. Kharbat joined Indian Health Services (IHS) where she worked in the clinic, hospital, nursing home and assumed the role of medical director serving a large Native American population.  While working with IHS she quickly realized her patient base had many medical needs that were not adequately met through traditional family medicine.  She commenced training in medical acupuncture through the UCLA/Stanford Helms Medical Institute and started providing medical acupuncture to patients in subsequent years.

After 3 years at IHS, Dr. Kharbat began operating her own private practice where she bridged the gap between Eastern and Western medicine as the only Integrative physician in the region.  During the 11 years of private practice, Dr. Kharbat took on extensive additional training in functional medicine, osteopathic manipulation - fascial distortion model, frequency specific microcurrent, and now holds three certifications:

  • Institute of Functional Medicine - Certified
  • American Board of Medical Acupuncture - Board Certified
  • American Board of Family Practice - Board Certified
  • American Board of Integrative Medicine - eligible 2017

She also holds the following professional memberships:

  • Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM)
  • The American FDM Association (AFDMA)
  • American Osteopathic Association (AOA)

Dr. Kharbat is married with two sets of twins and enjoys hiking, skiing, snowboarding, paddle boarding, cooking, and spending time with family.
