Dr. Aamir Ali is a board-certified physician who joins Capital Digestive Care after 13 years of clinical academic practice at The George Washington University. During his tenure at The George Washington University, he authored over 30 peer reviewed articles, book chapters and abstracts, and was consistently recognized for excellence in patient care and teaching.
His professional interests include colon cancer screening, GERD, complex inflammatory bowel disease, motility disorders and liver disease. He will also be involved in clinical research trials at Capital Digestive Care.
Dr. Ali earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine, as well as a fellowship in Gastroenterology at George Washington University. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Gastrointestinal Motility at the Johns Hopkins University.
Over the past 10 years, Dr. Ali has been recognized consistently by his peers as a “Top Doctor” in Washingtonian Magazine.
A specialist in the field of gastroenterology, Dr. Ali helps patients with complications of the gastrointestinal tract, commonly known as the digestive system. Dr. Ali may treat conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or ulcerative colitis and is knowledgeable regarding the effects of diet & nutrition on your general health.
