Dr. Manuel Betancourt-Ramirez graduated from University of the Andes Faculty of Medicine in 2000 before completing a residency in Internal Medicine at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY from 2004 to 2007. He then completed a fellowship in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine at Penn State University from 2007 to 2010.

Critical care pulmonologists are trained in two closely-related areas of medicine: pulmonology & critical care. Dr. Betancourt-Ramirez treats patients suffering from life-threatening pulmonary disorders and diseases. These may include emphysema, pneumonia, lung cancer or COPD. As a critical care specialist, Dr. Betancourt-Ramirez is also trained to stabilize patients who are in critical condition and require mechanical ventilation.
