Dr. Magdy Milad is the Albert B. Gerbie Professor and Chief of Gynecology and Gynecologic Surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and the Vice-Chair of Education in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern Medicine. Dr. Milad completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and matriculated to Wayne State University School of Medicine. He finished his residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan and went on to do a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. In 1997, he returned to school while working full-time to obtain a Masters in Academic Medicine at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Dr. Milad joined the Northwestern University faculty in 1993 and quickly established a niche in minimally invasive procedures. For over 20 years, he has remained a consummate advocate for minimally invasive surgery, training and education, having served as the residency director at Northwestern University for 13 years, mentoring over 250 residents and fellows in advanced endoscopic techniques and serving as either course director or faculty member for approximately 100 training courses including the AAGL resident courses, APGO hysteroscopy, electrosurgery and surgical scholars courses. He serves as a reviewer to multiple prestigious journals and has several grants to study endoscopic techniques, equipment and diseases amenable to surgical intervention. He has nearly 100 publications and 100 abstracts at major meetings, an ABOG board examiner and ACGME-international site visitor.
