For nearly two decades, Dr. Markovitz has been treating diseases and conditions affecting the heart and the blood vessels, including the saphenous veins. During his tenure as a board-certified surgeon, he has performed more than 5,000 vein treatment procedures aimed at treating vascular diseases and improving patient health and quality of life. At Virginia Vein Care, Dr. Markovitz oversees and directs all patient care and works closely with all members of the staff to ensure patients receive the best care possible.
After receiving his medical training at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Dr. Markovitz served as chief of the department of cardiovascular surgery at Mayo Health System-Midelfort Clinic, a subsidiary of the Mayo Clinic in Wisconsin. In 2003, Dr. Markovitz moved to northern Virginia where he founded Virginia Vein Care.
