I firmly believe that medical care needs to be a partnership between the physician and you, the patient. A partnership in which the you are expected to be and treated as an equal partner. Active involvement in your care and treatment planning is expected. You get to have an opinion, get to state your opinion and your opinions will be listened to. I believe that you should understand your diagnosis, what the criteria are that the diagnosis is based on and an understanding of what the treatment options might be. Your research of available clinical information regarding your diagnosis and treatment plan is strongly encouraged.
My areas of focus include mood disorders, including Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder. ADHD is another area of special interest to me as well as Anxiety Disorders.
