Dr. Joseph Feghali is a Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology and Neurological Surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center.
He has served on the Executive Council of the American Neurotology Society, the largest specialty organization of Neurotologists - Skull base surgeons in the United States. He is also a member of the American Otological Society.
Dr. Feghali has lectured on and given courses in Otological, Neurotological and Ear-related topics in many locations in the United States as well as overseas (France, Belgium, Spain and Lebanon).
Dr. Feghali has received the highly coveted Mosher award for his thesis on Auditory sensory cells bestowed by the Triological (American Otological, Rhinological and Laryngological) Society. He has also received a Certificate of Honor for his work on behalf of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr Feghali has served on or chaired numerous committees of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and The American Neurotology Society. He has published extensively on topics in Otology, Neurotology and Skull base surgery. He has authored and co-authored book chapters on Ear-related subjects. He is also a reviewer for peer reviewed journals including “Otology/Neurotology”. He has also been repeatedly named one of the best doctors in his field by lay publications since 1990. He has had the great honor of being named “Teacher of the year” by the Otolaryngology Residents at Montefiore Medical Center in June 2012.
Dr. Feghali has pioneered procedures in Skull base and Acoustic Neuroma surgery, but is presently limiting his surgical otologic practice to disorders of the tympanic membrane, middle ear and mastoid surgery including the treatment of Otosclerosis and Cholesteatoma.
Dr. Feghali received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut, in Beirut, Lebanon. He pursued residency training at the American University of Beirut, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (Surgery), and at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx (Otolaryngology). He also completed a Research Fellowship in Otology at the House Ear institute in Los Angeles and a Fellowship in Neurosurgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. Dr. Feghali has practiced overseas and in Virginia and California. He has practiced the longest in New York and has had a continuous, rewarding and fulfilling presence in the Bronx since 1987.
