José A. Menéndez, MD, FAANS, of Arizona Neurosurgery & Spine Specialists, located in Phoenix, Peoria, and Mesa, Arizona, completed his undergraduate studies and medical degree at the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, México. Completing his neurosurgery residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, with a fellowship in complex spinal surgery, Dr. Menéndez received additional training at Washington University, Louisiana State University and the Centre for Neurological Surgery at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, where he served as specialist registrar. Dr. Menéndez’s specialized interests include complex spinal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and epilepsy surgery. He has authored articles and publications across many areas. In addition to his role at ANSS, Dr. Menéndez is the Neurosurgery Liaison to Trauma Services and sits on the board of the Division of Neurosciences at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
