Before that, he graduated with honors from Dartmouth College and obtained his MD from the University of Virginia. He has published myriad peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and has lectured across the nation and abroad. Outside of the office, Dr. Eggleston is a family man. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Malena Amato, MD who is an oculoplastic surgeon in Austin, and their two sons. His other passions are the great outdoors, cycling, literature, and adventure. Dr. Eggleston is part of a statewide partnership called Breast Reconstruction Associates and sees patients in Central Austin with a new clinic in Cedar Park coming soon.
He works in numerous surgical centers and hospitals in the greater Austin area including the St. David’s Hospitals, the Seton Hospitals, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, and Hill Country Memorial Hospital. Out of state patients are also welcome.
Plastic surgeons perform a wide variety of surgeries that can restore or correct the form and function of the human body, which can be either cosmetic or reconstructive in nature. Dr. Eggleston is able to correct abnormalities of the body that may be causing adverse health effects, or perform surgeries to correct malformations caused by birth defects, trauma, tumors or disease. He also performs elective surgeries, which patients undergo to improve the aesthetic appearance of a certain body part.
Dr. Eggleston is a breast surgeon in Texas who specializes in treating conditions that affect breast health. Breast surgery is a highly specialized field, performing procedures such as lumpectomies, biopsies, mastectomies and sentinel node procedures. Dr. Eggleston may offer comprehensive care for breast conditions, treating patients from the diagnostic stage to post-surgery. Although women are usually associated with issues concerning breast health, men may require the care of a breast surgeon as well.
Specializing in the field of cosmetic surgery, Dr. Eggleston performs surgical and non-surgical procedures to improve or restore the aesthetics of a specific feature of body part. Cosmetic surgery may include rhinoplasty (or "nose jobs"), chin reshaping, face or necklifts, lipsuction or tummy tucks. A mainstay of cosmetic surgery, breast procedures such as breast augmentation, reduction, or lifts are among the most popular procedures performed by cosmetic surgeons.
A hand surgeon in Texas, Dr. Eggleston cares for injuries and complications of the hand, fingers, wrist, forearm, elbow and shoulder. Dr. Eggleston is specifically trained to diagnose each patient and determine whether or not surgical intervention is medically necessary, as surgery is usually seen as a last resort when other treatment methods have been exhausted. As a result, treatment can be surgical or non-surgical in nature.
