Joel A. Roffman, M.D., has been practicing cardiology for many years, joining HeartPlace in 1993. A general cardiologist, Dr. Roffman is accepting new patients at HeartPlace Baylor Plano.
Dr. Roffman earned his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine before completing his internship, residency, and fellowship at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut. He maintains hospital affiliations at Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano and The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano.
"I love taking care of people, helping patients with their heart and circulatory problems. The human element of medical care is of paramount importance to me." says Dr. Roffman.
Dr. Roffman is an active volunteer for several charitable organizations. He enjoys spending time with family and is an avid nature photographer. He is a fitness enthusiast, especially enjoying long-distance cycling, recently completing his 21st long-distance benefit ride for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
As a flight surgeon, Dr. Joel Roffman may treat any and all conditions that are found in patients working in the aerospace / flight industry. Patients treated by Dr. Roffman may include pilots, astronauts and flight attendants, among others. These patients require specialized treatment and preventive care, due to their being exposed to working conditions that are quite different from the typical patient.
