Dr. Granzow is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon serving patients in the Los Angeles area. Dr Granzow is also Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. In acamademic capacities, he is Associate Professor of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery, at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, and the Assistant Chief of Plastic Surgery at Harbor UCLA Medical Center.
In the field of reconstructive plastic surgery, Dr. Granzow specializes in breast cancer reconstruction and lymphedema, incorporating aesthetic principles with advanced microsurgical techniques to achieve the best results for his patients. Dr. Granzow is a pioneer in lymphedema surgery, creating the first integrated and comprehensive lymphedema treatment system to provide the highest level of care for lymphedema patients.
Dr. Granzow has presented at leading scientific and health conferences on various plastic surgery topics including aesthetic surgery, breast cancer reconstruction and lymphedema. He has authored numerous articles in recent and upcoming issues of the major, peer reviewed, plastic surgery journals.
Born in Santa Monica and raised in a medical family, Dr. Granzow graduated from the Harvard-Westlake High School. At Princeton, he graduated with honors in chemical engineering with a certificate in engineering biology. He also completed independent work in the Programs in Robotics and Intelligent Systems and at Merck Pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Granzow attended Tulane Medical School and graduated in the top 10% of his class and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. While in medical school, he also received a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a focus in Health Systems Management. Dr. Granzow then completed two residencies in Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles followed by Plastic Surgery at the University of Miami in Florida.
After finishing his training in Plastic Surgery, Dr. Granzow traveled throughout the United States and internationally to work closely with many of the world’s top surgeons in advanced microsurgery and aesthetic surgery. This included fellowships in microsurgery and breast reconstruction with Dr. Robert Allen in New Orleans, Louisiana and in advanced aesthetic surgery with Dr. Bryan Mendelson in Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Granzow also worked with distinguished international surgeons such as Dr. Fu-Chan Wei in Taiwan, Dr. Isao Koshima in Japan, and Dr. Philip Blondeel in Belgium.
Plastic surgeons perform a wide variety of surgeries that can restore or correct the form and function of the human body, which can be either cosmetic or reconstructive in nature. Dr. Granzow is able to correct abnormalities of the body that may be causing adverse health effects, or perform surgeries to correct malformations caused by birth defects, trauma, tumors or disease. He also performs elective surgeries, which patients undergo to improve the aesthetic appearance of a certain body part.
