Bio

I am a surgeon who has cared for patients with cancer and benign tumors for over a decade. I specialize in breast and endocrine surgical oncology. Following medical school and surgical training at NYU Medical Center, I completed advanced surgical fellowships at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Yale. My practice focuses on the personalized treatment of patients who have been diagnosed with benign and malignant conditions of the breast. These include benign breast masses, abnormal breast biopsies (e.g. atypia, LCIS), patients who have an elevated risk of developing breast cancer (e.g. BRCA genetic mutation carriers), ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), and invasive breast cancer. I have expertise in the full range of breast surgical oncologic procedures including hidden-scar lumpectomy and nipple-sparing mastectomy. I offer patients with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) the option of new approaches using active surveillance (via cometstudy.org), which can avoid unnecessary surgery. At Mount Sinai Hospital and the Tisch Cancer Institute, I am so proud of our multi-disciplinary teams that provide the most advanced options available to patients in the New York area. My team's goal is to provide every patient with the broadest set of choices, because there are often several "right answers" for the treatment of these conditions. As a surgeon, my role is to help my patients navigate this process and make the most informed decisions. I am passionate about shared decision-making, the practice by which we work together to develop a personalized treatment plan. I see patients at Mount Sinai Union Square.
