Dr. Jay Bhama is a cardiac surgeon dedicated to the surgical treatment of cardiovascular and heart ailments. These may include rheumatic, ischemic, endocarditis, atherosclerosis, and valvular, or congenital heart disease. Dr. Bhama may conduct procedures such as heart transplant surgery, coronary artery bypass, surgical implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, or heart valve repair.
Following rigorous and lengthy training, thoracic surgeons are uniquely qualified to perform complex surgeries on the chest, or thorax as it is sometimes called. Their focus is usually on the lungs, esophagus, and other areas of the chest, and may also include the heart.
