Doctor Jason M Herndon, M.D. is double board certified in Anesthesia and Pain management with special emphasis on interventional/procedural management of pain.
He is a lifelong Nashville native and his Southern roots have helped ground him in medical practice focused on integrity and servant leadership.
He graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University at the top of his class major, and was a Summa Cum Laude degree recipient. During his undergraduate years, he honed his teaching skills as a sub-professor in anatomy and physiology, physics, and biology. He completed his Medical Degree at Meharry Medical College where he was named to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, a privilege only the top 16% of all medical school graduates in the country obtain. There he received a high honors medical degree. He then moved to Charleston, SC to complete his anesthesia residency at the distinguished Medical University of South Carolina. While there he excelled among peers and was given awards for his teaching prowess of medical students and other residents. Finally, after completing his anesthesiology residency he was able to focus on his true passion which is pain management. He completed an American College of Graduate Medical Education accredited pain management fellowship at arguably the best place to train for chronic pain management in the country at the time, Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. While at Wake Forest, he trained under very well-known and respected faculty and received world class education in the field of pain management.
He then returned to his home town in Middle Tennessee with a goal of bringing the quality of care he learned under some of the best to the area. His goal is to help spread the needed mindset of integrity and patient-centric pain management practice to his home state, while simultaneously offering every therapy possible to improve the quality of life of his patients suffering with chronic pain.
Pain management doctors specialize in caring for patients who are dealing with chronic pain, whether resulting from injury, disease, or otherwise. Dr. Herndon creates customized pain management plans for patients that may include therapy, medication management, or minimally invasive procedures. When creating a customized pain management plan, Dr. Herndon will evaluate the patient and their medical history, in addition to performing tests to arrive at a precise diagnosis.
