Bio

Dr. Strahan is board certified in both Mohs Surgery and Dermatology.  He chose to become a Mohs surgeon because it combines his two passions in medicine: microscopic pathology and reconstructive surgery.  He grew in in Maryland and received his undergraduate degree in physiology and neurobiology at the University of Maryland.  He then moved to Texas where he did public health research for a few years before earning his medical degree with High Honors from the University of Texas Medical Branch.  He subsequently came to Colorado to complete his internship in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital and his dermatology residency at the University of Colorado.  He undertook his Mohs micrographic surgery and facial reconstruction fellowship in southern California at Loma Linda University, where he also served as Assistant Professor of Dermatology and was awarded Teacher of the Year.  Then, he returned to the East Coast to practice Mohs surgery for over 10 years.  He has personally performed over 10,000 cases of Mohs surgery and reconstruction.  He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and has authored textbook chapters on skin cancer and cosmetic dermatology.
