I started my orthopedic surgery practice in 1991. Over 12,000 patients in Manchester, South Windsor, Rocky Hill, Glastonbury and surrounding Hartford communities have trusted me to care for them and perform orthopedic surgery. It is from that experience, and my love of being an orthopedic surgeon, that I still strive to provide excellent and reliable orthopedic care. As a physician and a surgeon, I’m constantly learning and embracing new and innovative ways to treat my patients, allowing them to recover quicker and more completely.
I graduated from NYU in 1980 and New York Medical College in 1984. My two years of general surgery training was completed at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. From 1986 to 1987 I did research at NYC’s Hospital for Joint Diseases on compartment syndrome and orthopedic oncology. After completing my orthopedic training at St. Luke’s, independently practiced orthopedics until 2017, when I was honored to join the highly regarded surgeons of Orthopedic Associates of Hartford.
My special interest is the treatment of traumatic, degenerative, and sports related conditions for the knee, shoulder, and elbow. In addition to general orthopedic trauma and adult reconstructive surgery, I perform the following:
Arthroscopic, reconstructive, and joint replacement surgeries on the shoulder and knee.Non-operative treatment of selective orthopedic conditions with ultrasound-guided plate rich plasma (PRP) injections to heal injured tissue and treat painful joints.
I enjoy working with individuals with sports and work-related conditions as well as middle-aged weekend warriors with sports or work-related injuries. I am experienced in working with the complex and sometimes demanding requirements of patients who are injured on the job.
I am board certified in orthopedic surgery, a fellow of American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), and an active member of the Connecticut Joint Replacement Surgeons, LLC at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. The Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute (CJRI) has achieved national prominence, high patient satisfaction, and some of the lowest complication rates in the country.
I’ve also been fortunate to be on Connecticut Magazine’s list of the state’s top doctors in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013.
I reside in South Glastonbury with my wife Cathy.
