Dr. Daniel Jensen is a Board-Certified Dermatologist and is fellowship-trained in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and cosmetic dermatology. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, in which he specializes in the treatment of vein disease.
Dr. Jensen grew up in a military family and moved to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs in 1996. After graduating from high school, Dr. Jensen attended Brigham Young University, where he graduated with University Honors and studied Biochemistry and Portuguese. Dr. Jensen then returned to his home state of Colorado and attended medical school at the University of Colorado. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Jensen completed his dermatology residency training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Following his residency training, Dr. Jensen was selected for a prestigious one-year fellowship in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at Scripps Clinic, in San Diego, California. During his fellowship, Dr. Jensen learned cutting-edge techniques in skin cancer treatment and reconstruction, working in an interdisciplinary setting with plastic surgery, head and neck surgery, oculoplastic surgery, radiation therapy and medical oncology.
In addition to his training in the management of complex skin cancer, Dr. Jensen also received advanced training in minimally-invasive aesthetic techniques. His training encompassed injectable techniques, laser treatments, and the use of other minimally-invasive devices. To compliment this cosmetic training, Dr. Jensen also had the unique opportunity to train in one of the busiest vein clinics in the United States, learning the latest minimally-invasive techniques in the medical and cosmetic treatment of varicose and spider veins.
Dr. Jensen has participated in numerous clinical trials and has published approximately 65 articles, book chapters, and research abstracts/posters. He has presented his research at national and international meetings, and stays involved with medical education by teaching medical students and residents on a regular basis.
At home, Dr. Jensen enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and two children. He loves the outdoors, mountain biking, skiing, and horseback riding. He also enjoys playing the piano and guitar, and is involved through service in the community. He currently serves as a high school seminary instructor for his church and is on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Dermatologic Society.
