My area of expertise as a Retina Specialist is any disorder that can cause blindness/vision loss, from the initial diagnostic process to medical and surgical treatment, as well as all age groups. Even if the disease can't be stopped or cured, I view the patient and I as a team working together to slow or manage the loss. Since 2003, I have been an investigator for numerous nationwide clinical trials that have resulted in revolutionary treatments for the major blinding conditions in the United States: diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and retinal vein occlusions. I encourage every patient to be involved in all aspects, taking time to discuss the various options available so each patient can feel comfortable with the treatment eventually chosen. My treatment goal is always to ensure the maximum chance of success with only one surgery or procedure and in as painless a way as possible.
As an ophthalmologist in NV, Dr. Irene Voo is trained to diagnose, treat, and manage diseases or trauma of the eye. Dr. Voo may treat conditions such as glaucoma, corneal tumors, cataracts, retinal disorders, conjunctivitis, astigmatism and ocular tumors. Treatments may include the prescription of medication or surgeries such as corrective surgery (e.g. LASIK), cataract surgery, or glaucoma surgery.
