Dr. Makkar has two offices in Ohio where he specializes in Pulmonary Critical Care, Sleep Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.

Pulmonary Critical Care
Critical care pulmonologists are trained in two closely-related areas of medicine: pulmonology & critical care. Dr. Makkar treats patients suffering from life-threatening pulmonary disorders and diseases. These may include emphysema, pneumonia, lung cancer or COPD. As a critical care specialist, Dr. Makkar is also trained to stabilize patients who are in critical condition and require mechanical ventilation.

Sleep Medicine
Sleep medicine specialists diagnose and treat various disorders and diseases relating to sleep. This can include a range of conditions including insomnia, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, nightmares and others. Dr. Makkar utilizes a variety of diagnostic tools including screening devices, overnight sleep studies or oximeters, among many others. Treatments can include CPAP therapy, implantation of sleep devices, counseling, lifestyle modifications, and others aimed at eliminating or alleviating the symptoms of sleep conditions.
