Dr. Hesham Fakhri went to medical school at the Faculty of Medicine at Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt. He did his rotating internship at the Cairo University Teaching Hospitals and did his cardiology fellowship at Dar Al Fouad Hospital in Cairo, Egypt. He then came to the United States and did his residency in internal medicine at Wayne state University in Detroit, Michigan followed by Chief residency at Detroit Receiving Hospital.
Following this, he completed his fellowship in Cardiovascular sciences at the University of South Florida as well as his fellowship in interventional cardiology. He currently practices at Florida Hospital-Tampa, Florida Hospital-Carrollwood, Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel, St Josephs Hospital, Memorial Hospital of Tampa, Kindred Hospital Bay Area Hospital and Tampa General Hospital. Dr. Fakhri is Board Certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine and is also board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Vascular and Endovascular Medicine, Cardiac rhythm management with pacemaker/defibrillator implantation, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology as well as being a registered physician for the interpretation of vascular studies.
He has professional memberships with The American College of Cardiology, American Medical Association, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. He has keen interests in Cardiac Catheterizations, Interventional Cardiology, Venous Thrombectomy (clot removal), Peripheral Vascular Disease and Venous Ablation.
As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Fakhri provides minimally invasive diagnostic and treatment services for conditions affecting the heart and cardiovascular system.
