Bio

I immigrated to New York at six years old with my parents and grandparents. In high school, I was into basketball more than studying, but my family dreamed that Id become a doctor. I was the first person in my family to go to college, and I enrolled in NYU School of Medicine in 1971., I specialize in minimally invasive surgical treatments for diseases of the adrenal gland, such as the removal of adrenal tumors, including aldosteronomas, adrenal adenomas, and pheochromocytomas. I love the immediacy of surgery”of being able to fix something right away”and Im grateful that Im part of this talented team of doctors and nurses at NYU Langone., A great day is when Ive played a role in curing a patient and know that he or she will go on to live a healthy and productive life. I genuinely care about my patients, beyond the condition they have or the surgery I perform. I try to teach students and residents to take this humanistic approach, to get to know and understand their patients, and to bring their hearts into the practice of medicine.
