Erica graduated from Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, MA in 2002 with a major in biology and minor in chemistry. From there, she moved down to Washington, DC where she attended The George Washington University School of Medicine and graduated in 2006. General surgery residency brought her back up to the northeast, where she attended the University of Massachusetts Medical school from 2006-2013. She completed her general surgery residency during this time and did two years of vascular surgery basic science research. Erica was chief resident for the general surgery residency from 2012-2013. Throughout her residency, she completed and published many scientific papers and presented her research and attended many surgical conferences. After residency, she completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at UMass in 2014.
Erica is board certified in general surgery and board eligible in colon and rectal surgery.
Her interests include benign conditions such as hemorrhoids, fissures, abscess, fistulas, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, constipation, fecal incontinence, and malignant diseases including colon, rectal and anal cancer.
