Bio
Eric S. Schweiger, M.D. is a Board Certified dermatologist in private practice in NYC. He practices cosmetic and general dermatology, with a particular focus on laser and light based treatments, aesthetic enhancements with fillers, tattoo removal and the treatment of acne and acne scars. Dr. Schweiger is well known as one of the country’s leading acne experts.
Dr. Schweiger has participated in numerous basic science and clinical research studies over the years and is a clinical laser trainer, teaching other physicians how to use lasers.
In clinical research, Dr. Schweiger’s accomplishments include initiating the first prospective clinical study using photodynamic therapy to treat hidradenitis suppurativa and conducting the first clinical trial using a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser to treat dermatoses papulosa nigra. In addition, Dr. Schweiger recently published the first case report using Restylane to treat a patient with cleft-lip.
Dr. Schweiger is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan With Distinction and his doctor of medicine from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where he was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Schweiger completed his internship in internal medicine at New York University Medical Center and his dermatology residency at the University of Kansas, where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Schweiger is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
