I am a board certified general surgeon with a special interest in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. I am a clinical practitioner applying laparoscopic techniques to the treatment of surgical problems such as hernia repair , esophageal reflux and obesity. I have written and lectured extensively on these problems for over 20 years.
I have been the director of bariatric surgery at Clovis hospital since its inception and am consulting with Marian Hospital in Santa Maria to establish a new bariatric center of excellence in the near future.
Patients struggling with obesity problems may see Dr. Felix for surgical and non-surgical bariatric procedures. Procedures commonly performed by a bariatric surgeon include gastric bypass surgery, adjustable gastric banding, and others designed to help patients lose weight. Dr. Felix may also utilize non-surgical treatment plans, such as controlling the patient's diet and exercise regimen.
As a general surgeon in California, Dr. Felix performs a range of of surgeries and operations, usually focusing on areas and organs of the abdomen and their related organs. Dr. Felix may utilize invasive or minimally-invasive surgical techniques, with the latter reducing recovery time and stress on the patient's body.
